Criteria:
- PFHA Member Business must be in “Good Standing” in accordance with the
PFHA By-Laws. - Scholarship Award recipients will be determined by the PFHA Executive Board and members of the PFHA Education / Community Involvement Committee based on the quality and completeness of the Scholarship application criteria.
- The number of Scholarship Awards is limited and will not exceed $250 per recipient, per course, per semester.
- Scholarship Awards must be applied to one of the above mentioned Certification courses.
- Scholarship Awards are not automatically renewed. However the candidate may reply in the future following the same application process.
- Incomplete application packets will not be considered.
- Successful award recipients must Apply for Admission to Walters State Community College and meet all Application criteria.
Completed Scholarship Application must be received via US Mail by July 20, 2012.
Successful award recipients will be notified by August 3, 2012
and are responsible for costs exceeding the $250 award.
Courses range from five to fifteen weeks.
Total approximate cost for application, tuition, textbook and certification ranges from $400 – $550 per course. Costs are subject to change.

PFHA Hospitality Industry Certification Course Scholarships

- Two (2) letters of recommendation – one from your general manager or equivalent ranking business official
- A word processed essay (150-200 words) explaining:
- Your specific career goal – where you see yourself in five years.
- How being awarded this scholarship would help you achieve your five-year career goal.
- Any other useful information as to why you should be awarded this scholarship.
